Ambos equipos empataron 1-1 con el Wigan y Everton respectivamente

Liverpool y
Arsenal, que empataron 1-1 con Wigan y Everton, respectivamente, fueron los grandes perdedores de la 23ª jornada de la Liga Premier del futbol inglés, disputada entre martes y miércoles, dejando al Manchester United escaparse al frente de la tabla.
Por su parte, Chelsea, tras un pésimo primer tiempo logro resarcirse y con un doblete del artillero marfileño Salomon Kalou en la segunda parte, ganó por 2-0 y le quitó el segundo puesto a los "Reds" del español Rafa Benítez, por mejor saldo de goles.
El martes, Manchester United, no tuvo compasión del colista West Bromwich y lo goleó 5-0 en desplazamiento.
